Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has officially confirmed the permanent end of the iconic music duo Psquare, ending any hopes of a reunion.
In a recent statement, Rudeboy voiced his frustrations with the group’s dynamic, claiming he shouldered most of the work while others benefited equally. Reflecting on his experience with Psquare, he stated, “Those days of ‘monkey dey work, baboon dey chop,’ I’m done with that. I was always the one singing all the songs.” His comments highlighted the imbalance he felt during their time together.
Rudeboy clarified that his focus is now on his solo career, confirming that Psquare is no more. Fans of the once-celebrated Nigerian duo will have to accept Rudeboy’s decision to continue as an independent artist.
However, some Nigerians criticized Paul after he announced a new solo project amid ongoing tension with his twin brother, Peter, also known as Mr. P. Reports from Tooxclusive revealed that Peter linked their fallout to their older brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma. Peter claimed that while Northside Entertainment managed Psquare’s affairs, he discovered a separate company, Northside Music, founded and directed by Jude and Ifeoma. This company allegedly diverted millions of dollars and Naira from Northside Entertainment, using Ifeoma’s family home address for registration.
Peter confronted Paul, who denied any knowledge of the secret company, leading Peter to file a legal petition against Jude. Despite these allegations, Paul appeared unfazed, promoting his upcoming solo project, ‘Feeling,’ on Instagram. His post stirred dissatisfaction among Nigerians, many of whom urged him to address his brother’s concerns rather than push forward with his solo career and confirm the end of Psquare.
