Nigerian star Simi, known for hits like “Duduke,” recently shared the story of her surprise proposal during an appearance on the “OFF THE TOP” show with VJ Adams. According to Simi, the proposal came just ten days before her 30th birthday and caught her off guard despite her usually being hard to surprise. Adekunle Gold managed to pull off the perfect moment.
On the day of the proposal, Simi and Adekunle had attended a friend’s mother’s birthday party, so she was already dressed up and wearing heels. Although she was tired afterwards, Adekunle insisted they eat dinner with his uncles at the Eko Hotel. Simi thought this was an opportunity to spend time with his family, unaware that Adekunle had much bigger plans.
Upon arriving at the hotel, Adekunle asked Simi to fix her heels before heading inside. Surprisingly, she was met with a romantic setup of candles and flowers leading to their room. The room was beautifully decorated with balloons, candles, and more flowers when she opened the door. It was then that Adekunle got down on one knee and proposed. Overwhelmed with joy, Simi said “Yes” to the love of her life.
