Afrobeats continues its global rise with prominent artists from the genre featured on the newly released EA FC25 soundtrack. Launched today, the soundtrack includes tracks from leading Afrobeats stars such as Omah Lay, Shallipopi, and Rema.
Omah Lay popular track “Moving,” from his upcoming album Clarity of Mind, is part of the playlist. This upbeat song provides a soothing backdrop for gamers, perfectly complementing the immersive experience of the forthcoming EA game.
Rema’s “Benin Boys,” from his second album HEIS, also appears. This track is one of the standout African contributions to the playlist.
South African artist Moonchild Sanelly is featured with two tracks, “Gwara Gwara” and “Big Man,” adding to the diverse selection of African music on the soundtrack.
Nigerian artists have previously been featured in-game soundtracks, with names like Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Pheelz appearing in past editions.
EA FC25, which covers the 2023/2024 football season, will be available to the public on September 20, 2024. The soundtrack, featuring 117 tracks from artists across 27 countries, includes international stars such as Billie Eilish, Fred again.., Ice Spice, Charli XCX, Glass Animals, and J Balvin.
