Cubana Chief Priest's Restaurant Reopens After Closure

Nigerian celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest’s restaurant and bar has reopened after being shut down by the Lagos State Government due to noise pollution concerns.

The Lagos State commissioner shared a video submitted by an anonymous resident, showing the disruptive noise from the establishment.

On Sunday, September 15, the government sealed the restaurant, citing its role in causing noise pollution and other environmental violations. However, some have questioned the validity of the government’s claims regarding the closure. In response, the commission released the video to support their decision.

In other news, actress Eniola Badmus has voiced her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, noting a decline in imports and an increase in exports as indicators of economic progress.

In an Instagram story, she shared statistics showing a trade surplus of over N14 trillion within just eight months. She praised this as a “positive shift from consumption to production.”

Badmus wrote: “For the year-to-date 2024, imports totalled N24.44 trillion, while exports reached N38.59 trillion, resulting in a record trade surplus of over N14 trillion in just eight months.

“This has never happened before in Nigeria. It’s a refreshing change from consumption to production.”

Her statement comes amidst ongoing economic challenges and rising inflation, with millions of Nigerians protesting worsening economic conditions in August.
